Talking about the occasional drink....

If you haven't seen this video yet, it'll set your jaw down a few notches...

In a related note, a friend of mine has come to the SELF-realization that he's an alcoholic and attended his first Alcoholics Anonymous meeting last night. Wow. What courage. I mean, nobody MADE him go, there was no "intervention," either. He just had his self-epiphany (he's right, by the way), and went in. I'm pulling for him. He's one of those guys you can do the "eyesight" test and see he'd have so much going for him - if only...ya know?

I'm not going to pretend to understand the dynamics of alcoholism; I know, for many, it's a hereditary trait, and that it's not like deciding to give up red meat or chewing your nails (which I can't seem to shake). It's easy for ME to say (as I did to him a few times yesterday, I'm sure) "it's just mind over matter," but I know it's a challenge unlike any I know of, on a personal level.

I'm just glad he made the call; and I'll do whatever I can to help. Even if it means showing him the video above and reminding him that I could tell him about a fan-TASTIC McDonalds drive-thru story about he, a mutual friend of ours, and I experienced a few months ago. I wish I'd had my Flip video camera around for THAT comedy. Hilarious, but sad, at the same time.
